Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a frightening and all to common cancer.  There is no good way to prevent breast cancer so the next best thing is to diagnose it as early as possible.  A mammogram is the best screening test to find breast cancer.  A regular mammogram is recommended for all women 40 years and older. The physicians at ARFP can help you get your mammogram.  Getting into a habit of performing a regular, once a month, self breast exam will alert you to any changes that you should talk to the doctor about.  Also be sure to have your doctor perform a yearly clinical breast exam.

The Susan G Komen Foundation has a great deal of information and is working to end breast cancer.  The American Cancer Society has a very detailed web site about breast cancer.
