Prostate Cancer

Cancer of the prostate is very common in older men. It usually doesn't cause symptoms except some urine obstruction. It is most often diagnosed by having a regular DRE (digital rectal exam) and a PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test. The doctors at ARFP will help monitor for signs of prostate problems and if it appears you may have cancer will refer you to a Urologist for biopsy. Call 227-6363 for an appointment. There are many new treatments for prostate cancer.
