Heart and Vascuar Disease
Vascular disease includes
heart attack,
peripheral vascular disease and
stroke. It is caused by any or all of the
following:
high cholesterol
, tobacco use,
high blood pressure
, low
levels of physical activity and of course your family history.
In reality your risk of developing vascular disease can be reduced
greatly by following a healthy diet and getting adequate physical
activity. The physicians at ARFP are skilled at identifying
and reducing your risk of developing vascular disease as well as
treatment if you already have it.
If you ever think you are having or
might be having a heart attack or stroke, CALL 911, and go to the
ER.
If you want to know if you already have some vascular disease or
if you are at a high risk, call 227-6363 to schedule an
appointment for a cardiovascular exam. One important part of this
exam will be your
history. The doctor at ARFP will review this and suggest
additional testing that may include a chest x-ray, EKG, lab and
blood testing and possibility even a
Cardiolite Stress Test.
If you have hypertension, high cholesterol or any other heart
disease you can find a lot of good information at the
American Heart Association
